Ceratogytus darlingi is also known as the straight horned baboon or the African black horned tarantula. This very unusual species has a black "horn" protruding from the center of it's carapace. Lasiodora parahybana (Salmon pink birdeater) This is one of the largest of all tarantulas when full grown. Sizes in the norm of 8" leg span and up to 10". It is wonderful to experience the incredible transformation from a tiny sling to an unbelievably massive spider. With each molt its change in size is almost unbelievable. Incredible prey drive the "LP" will not dissapoint come feeding time. The LP is docile yet it can be skittish. Salmon Pink birdeaters are hardy and can make a good first tarantula. Pelinobius muticus is also known as the King Baboon Tarantula. This aggressive/defensive burrower is rare in the hobby and prized for it's unique characteristics. When threatened the "King Baboon" is one of few tarantula species who stridulate, producing a distinct hissing sound.
